Mixed Reality Collaboration Service

We built the world’s first mixed reality collaboration service, and it is available for licensing and use in custom application development projects. We believe that mixed reality experiences will empower the next generation of collaboration, going far beyond what today’s video conferencing and screen sharing solutions can provide.

If you have a HoloLens, you can try the Mixed Reality Collaboration Service for yourself by downloading our free Prism by Object Theory app on the Microsoft Store for HoloLens.

The Object Theory Mixed Reality Collaboration Service helps organizations design and build holographic shared experiences, allowing collaboration in real time from remote locations, enabled by life size 3D avatars and spatial audio chat. This service supports Microsoft HoloLens, Windows Mixed Reality Immersive Headsets, and Windows 10 PCs all connecting in a shared experience. This software includes support for customized avatars, display of 3D models at table top and true scale sizes, audio chat with spatial sound, and annotations. This service helps organizations improve communication with efficient viewing and discussion of 3D models, regardless of the participants’ location.

Our team has been working in the area of holographic collaboration even prior to the formation of the company. One of Object Theory’s founders helped build the collaboration system in OnSite, a partnership between NASA and Microsoft that enables scientists to work virtually on Mars using the Mars Curiosity rover and Microsoft HoloLens. After the formation of Object Theory, collaboration concepts were further explored as part of a custom software development engagement for CDM Smith, a company that provides lasting and integrated solutions in water, environment, transportation, energy and facilities to public and private clients worldwide. Based on our early work and expertise in collaboration, Microsoft hired Object Theory to create course curriculum on Shared Experiences for the Holographic Academy.
The Object Theory Mixed Reality Collaboration Service has been licensed to multiple clients as part of a custom software engagement. For teams that have the capability to do Windows Mixed Reality development, Object Theory also offers a source code license on a limited basis. To learn more about licensing options, please send a request to business@objecttheory.com.
